The truth behind Duman's defense...
Today, the news made headlines that the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, has requested from the KLP increased security for his predecessor Altin Dumani and several other prosecutors. But this news has caused surprise, since Dumani is no longer at the head of SPAK and no one has publicly addressed him.
In fact, Dumani, as the former head of SPAK, is protected directly by law and not by the KLP. The government itself, in decision no. 478, dated 10.07.2019, has determined the procedures for the protection of the head of SPAK, procedures that continue even after his removal from office. In October of last year, this VKM was amended and it was decided that the head of SPAK will have maximum protection for 3 years after leaving office.
Dumani continues to use the same vehicle, namely the black armored "Audi", accompanied by Guard soldiers and also by police cars. So his security is at the maximum level and there is no other security that could be more. As can be seen in the video below:
It is learned that Dumani has requested increased security and its extension for his family. And the KLP has approved this request. Dumani claims that they may be in danger.
But while Dumani has moved with maximum security for 3 years, so has his family, why is he worried now that he has the "keys to the straw" in his hands? Dumani is only involved in a few files, but not as the lead prosecutor. During the time he was at the head of SPAK, he entered as a supporting prosecutor in several files and was not a direct initiator of the investigations.
If Dumani has implemented the law and has been correct, he has no reason to be afraid. Those who have passed by the SPAK building have, in many cases, seen many prosecutors moving around without guards, without cars, without any kind of security. This is because they are correct in their work. So the news today is more like a show than a real danger to Dumani.
Dumani has not been mentioned in recent months. The only news that has come out is that Dumani was in the company of a convicted person during a family party. Perhaps this news seemed like a threat to Dumani and he was scared. Meanwhile, in SPAK there are prosecutors who have investigated armed gangs, have been threatened by family members of criminals and still have no protection.
If Dumani had really been threatened, SPAK would have found the person who threatened him within a day. Then, if it comes to accusations and statements in the media, then it's a different story, because this is similar to the story of Adriatik Llalla. Even the former chief prosecutor, before leaving office, came out to play the victim, saying that he had been threatened and took his family out, a method to escape later. But at least Llalla got a message on his phone, but Dumani seems to be scared only by the "bullying" in the media.
