Milan have defeated Fiorentina in an emotional match at the San Siro, winning 2-1 and taking three valuable points in the Italian championship. It was the visiting team that took the lead first, shocking the home crowd, but Milan reacted with force and overturned everything thanks to two goals from Rafael Leão.
Fiorentina opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a precise shot from close range, punishing a moment of lethargy by the red and black defense. However, the goal served as a wake-up call for Milan, who changed the pace of the game and began to increase the pressure in the opposing half.
The reaction was not long in coming. After just eight minutes, Leão equalized with an individual breakthrough and a typical finishing move. The Portuguese footballer was undoubtedly the most decisive player of the match, restoring hope for the Rossoneri and lighting up the stands of the “San Siro”.
With the game heading towards an equaliser, in the 86th minute, Milan won a penalty which Leão converted with the utmost composure, sealing the upset. The final minutes saw a Fiorentina trying everything to salvage at least a point, but Mike Maignan and the Milan defence held on with determination.
The victory comes at an important moment for the red and black team, which aims to keep pace in the race for the top of the standings. On the other hand, Fiorentina suffers another defeat that deepens the results crisis and reopens discussions about the stability of the team.
