Max Verstappen has returned with a dominant victory at the Texas Grand Prix, coming out on top on the Austin track and reopening the race for the Formula 1 championship title. The Dutch Red Bull driver put on a spectacular performance, leading the race from start to finish without a moment of uncertainty.
He was followed by Briton Lando Norris of McLaren, who had a tough duel with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who finished third, completing the podium. Lewis Hamilton was fourth, while current leader of the standings, Oscar Piastri, had to settle for fifth place, losing important points.
The win sees Verstappen close the gap on Piast to just 40 points with five races and one sprint remaining in the season. Meanwhile, the rivalry within McLaren is also heating up, with Norris just 14 points behind his teammate.
The next race will take place in Mexico in a week, and is expected to be decisive for the fate of the title.
