The Albanian Parliament has rejected the complaints filed by MPs Flamur Noka and Elda Hoti, confirming the disciplinary measures imposed by the Ethics Secretariat.
This body had decided to exclude Noka for 20 days and Hoti for 10 days from parliamentary activities, after finding violations of internal regulations during the sessions.
During the voting in the Bureau, the Speaker of the Assembly Niko Peleshi abstained, while MP Belind Këlliçi voted in favor of the complaints submitted by Noka and Hoti.
Meanwhile, Blendi Klosi, Saimir Hasalla, Fatmir Xhafaj, Ogerta Manastirliu and Klodiana Spahiu voted against dismissing the appeals, supporting the maintenance of disciplinary measures.
The request for expulsion came after the debates and tensions that accompanied the proceedings in the Assembly during the session held last week. During the session, the opposition repeated its scenario of violence, insults and chaos.
Noka threw a water bottle at Taulant Balla, while Hoti was involved in another incident when, during the session, he attempted to interrupt MP Bora Muzhaqi's speech by removing her card from the device.
