A lawyer, who came from Italy for the Diaspora Summit, seeks real spaces for Albanians living abroad, and questions the way the panels are organized.
Eva Baçi, a lawyer at the Bologna Prosecutor's Office, seems to have spoiled the scenario for Prime Minister Edi Rama and every representative of the socialist majority, who turned the Diaspora Summit currently underway in Tirana into a conference where speakers praise the Government.
Perhaps seeing what was happening with the panels, where there was no shortage of assessments of the Government, Baçi intervened from the country, providing another perspective, highlighting the lack of support for Albanians living abroad, but also the closed doors they encounter whenever they want to come to Albania to make their contributions.
But not only that, the lawyer has exposed the Summit organizers, who have selected as speakers only political figures or those connected to the Socialist Party, thus preventing immigrants from expressing their opinions.
" The desire to return to Albania is very great, so we participate in the Summit because we are waiting for an open window from the motherland, to return, to open the door for us. The script is written very beautifully, like that director who writes very beautifully, we listen to the narrative, but the main actors that are the Diaspora are missing. This is the Diaspora Summit. I think that apart from the opening that the floor should be given to the minister, the prime minister and the president, the main actors are us. I wanted to have a discussion and I was not given the right to speak. We need to finish these beautiful films, so that we can just listen.
I have graduated from 3 faculties in Bologna, I have two specializations. We have asked many times to come in and give our contribution. I work 14 hours in Italy, but I can work 20 hours for Albania. I have no place to speak, I want to express what I have, because otherwise we will be just numbers. I can't wait for the ticket to come from there to be a number. I was very disappointed yesterday, when the awards were given. On my side is one of the Albanian entrepreneurs who employs 350 families and you did not give him an award, Astrit Poti.
You are far from reality, I'm talking about politicians, you are far from reality, you are not close to us. We are without support and when your country does not support you, when you do not contribute to your country. I am more prepared for Italy, but I am simply a foreigner. We want to return to our country. These separate panels are not good. We, the main actors, must speak, bring up the problems.
Let's not listen to politicians, the narrative is very beautiful, but you have no idea what sacrifice means, without any support and no help. Open the doors, because Albania does not lack brains. You have closed the doors, to all the people who are prepared. I have many more things, but if I had the opportunity, I would have prepared the discussion. Mr. Taulant Balla, you are the first who is very far from reality. You can pass the vote for another 4 years, but you must leave a name in history. Not just steal and provide for your people , "said Baçi.
She emphasized that many Albanian professionals abroad feel unrepresented and unsupported by Albanian institutions. According to her, the diaspora continues to be treated more as a statistic than as a concrete resource for the country's development.
Finally, she called for emigrants to be given an active role in discussions and to create real opportunities for contribution in Albania.
From time to time, one of the presenters attempted to interrupt the lawyer's speech, but failed to take away her microphone.

Të lumtë. Je trime, atdhetare dhe e zgjuar. Shqipëria po i afrohet viteve të Enver Hoxhës Por mesa duket toksinat e paskomunizmit janë më të dëmshme se vetë komunizmi. Mos i hani keto mufka te shtetit Shqiptar. Ngaqe kane mbetur pa breke ne bythe, tani duan te terheqin diasporen te vijne te "kontribuojne" per xhepin e tyre e jo Shqiperine. Pasi te rrjepin mire parane e emigranteve, kodoshet pushtetare te se kaluares e se tashmes do ikin "emigrante" te shijojne gjakun e popullit. Ky fenomen ka ndodhur historikisht qe ne lashtesi. Marrim kohet moderne ku njerezit iken nga syte kembet ne kontinentet e reja e nuk u kethyen me por i treguan edhe pushken shtetit ame e formuan shtete me dimensione te tjera. Si mund tu kerkohet patriotizem e puthje dore Shqiptareve qe i braktiset e i late deri ne situaten e zhdukjes!? Si? Pafytyresia, grykesia e imoraliteti i barbarise injorante te paqyteteruar ben"mrekullira" te pa para e pa degjuara. Nuk jane te pasur emigrantet ashtu si "pretendoni" ju ne Shqiperi se jane brez qe kane vuajtur e po hane dynjane per te jetuar me dinjitet. Pse nuk u afrohet emigranteve afrim ne politike e assistence te ndijmojne Atdheun? Ne se ka Shqiptare biznesmene te ndershem pse te mos investonin psh., ne Sazan por te turren tere birbot e ndyre te botes e ta ne pushtojne token? Mos, mos! Karma is bitch, says the wise English.
