One of the participants in the protest held this Friday in Tirana, who introduced himself as a former student of the December 1990 Student Movement, delivered a speech in strong tones against the government, declaring that the ideals of that time were not realized.
"I am a student from the '90s. We were driven out of the country by the security structures of that time. The dream of the students of that time did not come true," he said.
The protester stated that he had been decorated with the symbolic title "Torch of Democracy", but that he had decided to throw it away.
"I was awarded the 'Torch of Democracy', but I threw it in the trash because I refuse to be decorated by the puppets of communism," he said.
He further claimed that he had returned from Europe to invest in Albania, but had suffered huge financial losses.
"I am a citizen like you. Despite being successful in Europe, I returned to Albania and lost millions of euros in the spider web of the neo-Bolshevik system, which takes investors' money and takes it away from Albania," the protester declared.
Commenting on the protest the day before in front of the Parliament, he said:
"Yesterday I was part of the protest. Two hundred brave people made 1,200 policemen tremble. We are not against investments. We are the most pro-American people in Europe. We want democracy without the puppets of communism."
At the end of his speech, the protester called on Albanians living abroad to join the protest.
"Albania is in danger. Come, join the young people so that we can take Albania to Europe, what we failed to do in the '90s. Either us or them! Europe does not like thieves," he concluded.
