United States President Donald Trump has become part of the speculation surrounding the organization of the 2030 World Cup final.
According to the Spanish sports show " El Partidazo de COPE ", there is concern in the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) that the World Cup final may not take place in Spain, but in Morocco.
Journalist Juanma Castanjo said during the show that within the Spanish federation it is believed that Trump prefers the final match to be played in Morocco.
" There is a fear that Donald Trump wants the 2030 World Cup final to be held in Morocco. This is very clear. Trump has a particular antipathy towards Spain, while Morocco is an important partner of the United States ," the show said.
The 2030 World Cup will be hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with the opening matches taking place in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, as part of the tournament's 100th anniversary. However, FIFA has yet to decide on the stadium that will host the final.
Currently, Spain has two main candidates for the decisive match: the “Spotify Camp Nou” in Barcelona and the “Santiago Bernabeu” in Madrid. On the other hand, if the final were entrusted to Morocco, the main candidate is the “Hassan II” Stadium, with a capacity of about 115 thousand spectators, which is still under construction.
A few days ago, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Luzan, declared that the final should be held in Spain.
" It would not make sense for Spain not to host the World Cup final. There should be no doubt that the final should be played in Spain, because this World Cup was born as a project of Spain and Portugal, while Morocco joined later ," Luzan declared in an interview with "Cadena SER".
Despite reports and speculation in the Spanish media, FIFA has not yet made an official decision on the stadium that will host the 2030 World Cup final.
