"Albanians' money is not for Kanye West", Bardhi attacks Rama:
Bardhi-Rama

The head of the Democratic Party's parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted sharply to the government's decision to finance Kanye West's concert. He has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of using citizens' money to cover up the failure of a private activity.

According to Bardhi, Albanian citizens should not bear the financial burden of a concert, while the country faces problems in health, education, and welfare.

"Edi Rama is asking Albanians to pay for a concert that failed after tickets were not sold and was boycotted by citizens. An injustice to a people who have the lowest salaries in Europe and face economic difficulties every day," said Bardhi.

He further stated that public funds are not the property of the government and cannot be used to finance private activities. The Democrat emphasized that this money should serve to improve conditions in hospitals, schools, and to support citizens in need.

"The budget money belongs to Albanian taxpayers and not to the prime minister. Many citizens cannot find medicine in hospitals, schools have numerous shortages, while salaries, pensions and economic assistance remain at low levels. It is unacceptable that state funds are used to finance a private activity," Bardhi continued.

He requested the cancellation of the concert, emphasizing that this is the only solution for Albanians not to pay the financial consequences of a private event.

"The concert should be canceled, as has happened in other European countries. Citizens' taxes should not be used to cover the costs of a private activity or to finance an artist who has incited hatred," Bardhi concluded.
