Police have arrested 46-year-old Altin Celami, a well-known name to the authorities, in Tirana. He is accused of supplying criminal groups with firearms and drugs.
A former soldier who was arrested 3 years ago as part of Operation 'The Orderer', after providing weapons to hired killers. He was a soldier in the Pezë Helmës unit in Tirana. The 43-year-old is accused of the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
His name came up during the action on October 4, 2022, where 15 people from a criminal group that dealt in contract killings fell into the hands of the Durrës police. It was the brothers Indrit and Gentian Beqiraj who uncovered serious criminal events and discovered who was hiding behind them.
In two cases, the orderer was Kasandër Noga, arrested in Belgium but planning to execute opponents through hired killers. For the latter, some of the weapons were provided by the military man Altin Celami.
