A serious incident was recorded this afternoon in the village of Duhanas, Berat, where a 43-year-old man lost his life after falling from an olive tree.
The victim, identified as Ermal Rripi, was picking olives at the time of the accident. According to local sources, Rripi lost his balance and fell from a height, suffering serious bodily injuries.
He was urgently transported to the Berat Regional Hospital, but despite immediate medical assistance, he was unable to survive his injuries and died en route.
Meanwhile, police forces have arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection of the area and received testimony from the victim's family and relatives. Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the incident was accidental and no other circumstances are suspected.
