
SPAK has brought to trial the file against 3 people accused of corruption in the elections held in the Lezha District.
This is the file that includes the defendants:
Gersi Kaçorri, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Active corruption in elections", committed in collaboration, as provided for by articles 328 and 25 of the Criminal Code;
Besnik Uka, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Passive Corruption in Elections", committed in collaboration, as provided for by articles 328/b and 25 of the Criminal Code;
Artur Jahja, accused of committing the criminal offense, "Passive corruption in elections", committed in collaboration, provided for by articles 328/b and 25 of the Criminal Code.
The criminal proceedings were registered based on the material referred by investigators of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), in charge of the above citizens, suspected of the criminal offense, "Active corruption in elections" and "Passive corruption in elections", committed in collaboration, during the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025.
The acts administered during the proactive investigation and follow-up with special investigative methods (interception of telephone communications, observations and other investigative actions) showed that the defendants; Gersi Kaçorri, Besnik Uka and Artur Jahja were involved in illegal activities in the Lezha District, during the elections for the Albanian Parliament.
During the election campaign, the defendants, in collaboration with each other, promised, offered and gave monetary sums to voters of the Kurbin Municipality, in exchange for voting in a certain way, in support of the political entity, the Socialist Party.
The investigation revealed that the defendants were active in the election campaign in support of this political entity, offering and distributing monetary means to voters to influence their voting behavior.
