A 33-year-old man has been arrested by the police after being accused of being an accomplice in the cultivation of 10,274 narcotic plants in the village of Kir, Shkodra.
The arrested person is Mhill Shpati, a resident of the village of Bardhaj. The Shkodra Court had issued a security measure of "arrest with imprisonment" against Shpati in absentia. He was located and discovered where he was hiding based on information obtained through operational means.
Three people were arrested during the operation two years ago and 6 others were wanted by the Shkodra police on charges of cultivating 10,274 cannabis plants.
The suspects Arben Shpati, 34 years old, Pavlin Shpati, 41 years old, and Aurel Fejzo, 23 years old, were arrested on August 10, 2023. The following were declared wanted: Gjovalin Shpati, 37 years old, Artan Shpati, 30 years old, Aleksandër Shpati, 34 years old, Fatmir Shpati, 34 years old, Mhill Shpati, 31 years old, arrested today, and Aleksandër Rrasa, 23 years old, resident of the villages of Bardhaj and Grude e Re.

The services of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, based on information provided on the location of a wanted citizen, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed “Forest 1”. During the operation, the following citizen was arrested and handcuffed: -M. Sh., 33 years old, resident of the village of Bardhaj.
This citizen was declared wanted, after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shkodra has assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Cultivation of narcotic plants", committed in collaboration. The 33-year-old is suspected of having collaborated with other citizens, for the cultivation of 10,274 narcotic cannabis plants, which were found and destroyed by the Police services, on 10.08.2023. The procedural materials were referred to the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, for further actions", the police announced.
