Former police chief Nazmi Shuli, during his speech in court, denied the statements of the repentant justice official, Nuredin Dumani. According to Dumani's previous statements, Shuli took a firearm under the overpass after the murder of Elvis Dedja.
Asked if he took a gun under the overpass where the murder took place, he said no and that he is a law enforcement officer. He added that he has no connection to these. The former police officer stressed that he knows Festim and Petrit Qolin.
According to the Prosecution, Shuli had telephone contact with Festim Qolin the day before the incident. He had also communicated with Petrit Qolin on the day of the incident. Shuli claimed that he had communicated with them several times but had not spoken about the murders.
" In June 2012, I was employed in the Elbasan district, part of the state police. Festim and Petrit Qoli are my people and I have communicated with him on the phone. I have changed my phone number since 2012. Festim Qoli had a gas station, a wedding hall and a market. He was with another partner at the gas station. We did not discuss the murder of Elvis Dedja with Festim at all. Agron Qolin is my son, we had an excellent relationship. Agron had good relationships with Festim and Petrit.
After the murder of Elvis Dedja, after a long time I met Festim. I did not try to call him or Petrit during that period. I had normal conversations with Festim, he had been abroad. I did not know Nuredin Duman, only his father. After the murder of Fatmira Deda I met Festim, he did not express any concerns about him.
