England captain Harry Kane has revealed details of his meeting with US President Donald Trump, with whom he played golf about 18 months ago in Palm Beach, Florida. The England striker described it as a special and "quite surreal" experience.
A few days ago, Trump told the media that he had shared the golf course with Kane, highly praising the England captain.
" I think Kane is a great player. I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He's a good golfer too. He's really great ," Trump said.
For his part, Kane confirmed that the invitation came during his stay in Florida and admitted that it was difficult to turn down such an opportunity.
" I was playing well, to be honest. About 18 months ago he invited me to play golf, when I was in Palm Beach. When the President of the United States invites you, it's quite a surreal experience. It was a pleasure to meet him and, of course, to play golf with him. To be honest, he plays really well. I hope I can play golf as well as he does when I'm his age. It was a unique experience and I'm grateful that he invited me, " the 32-year-old said at a press conference ahead of the World Cup quarter-final, where England will face Norway.
