Two people have been arrested at the Kakavija border crossing after attempting to smuggle cocaine and hunting ammunition into Albanian territory.
The blue uniforms inform that the following citizens have been arrested:
EN, 48 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics". The 48-year-old attempted to enter Albania with cocaine in his vehicle.
I.Gj., 49 years old, resident of Patos, for the criminal offense of “Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons.” The 49-year-old attempted to smuggle 250 hunting cartridges into Albania.
At the end of the actions for these cases:
- the Narcotics Investigation specialists of the Gjirokastër Police Department arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen EN, 48 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics";
-Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastra referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen I. Gj., 49 years old, resident of Patos, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons".
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
