A brutal crime was discovered on Friday afternoon in Greiq in the Skourta area, Boeotia, where a man was found burned to death in the back seat of a car.
The victim was found burned with his hands handcuffed behind his back. According to initial information, the car had been stolen from an area in Attica and had forged license plates.
The case is considered particularly serious and has already been taken over by the Organized Crime Division (aka the Greek FBI).
A key element in this case is the identification of the victim. The initial assessment is that the man died about two days ago. The burned car with the body inside was discovered by a hunter and he is suspected to be of Albanian origin.
The police consider it a particularly important detail that the car was stolen from Glyfada last spring, but the forged license plates correspond to a car of the same type from Pieria. They are already investigating the recent disappearance of a foreign national from Attica, who had announced that he was going to Villia. However, this missing individual, who may be a burn victim, has no criminal record.
