Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in Tirana, accused of supplying firearms to criminal groups. Altin Celami is suspected of using his taxi to transport weapons and ammunition to avoid police checks.
During the physical search of the vehicle and the apartment, the police seized 4 firearms, pistols, ammunition, cocaine and various weapon parts. The police also found cocaine.
Celami, a 43-year-old soldier, was previously arrested as part of Operation 'The Orderer'. He was providing weapons to a group of contract killers, and has therefore been suspended from military duties.
Celami was a soldier in the Pezë Helmë unit in Tirana. He is accused of the criminal offense of “Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition.”
"The police operation codenamed "Gun Expert" is being finalized by Police Commissariat No. 4 in collaboration with the Traffic Section, followed by special investigation methods.

Police Commissariat No. 4 in cooperation with the Traffic Section of the Tirana DVP, under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, as a result of an investigation conducted using special methods, finalized the police operation codenamed "Gun Expert".
As part of the operation, citizen AC, 46 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto on Dibra Street, while driving a taxi.
During the physical search of the vehicle and the apartment, 4 firearms, pistols with combat ammunition, were found, which the investigation suspects were to be sold to criminal groups, the narcotic substance cocaine and various weapon parts which were seized as material evidence together with the vehicle.
Work is underway to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for the criminal offenses of "Illegal Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition" and "Production and Sale of Narcotics", the police announced.
