Jos Leijdekkers, known in all police files as Bolle Joes, is not just an ordinary trafficker. Born on July 1, 1991 in Breda, Netherlands, and raised in Prinsenbeek, he entered the world of crime at a young age thanks to the contacts of his father, who had documented links to drug trafficking. But what sets Bolle Joes apart from others is the scale of his operations and his choice of hideout. According to Europol data, this subject is considered one of the key players in international cocaine trafficking.
In the Netherlands and Belgium, Leijdekkers has been sentenced in absentia to a total of about 89 years in prison. The charges by the Dutch authorities include trafficking seven tons of cocaine, an armed robbery, ordering murder and large-scale money laundering. Dutch courts have proven that this citizen laundered tens of millions of euros and hundreds of kilograms of gold that came from cocaine trafficking. But Bolle Joes is no longer in Europe. DEA sources confirm that the escape from the Netherlands occurred in 2022 and has since chosen a country that offers him what few other countries can offer him: lack of extradition and high-level protection.
Sierra Leone in West Africa is the current haven. The country has no extradition treaty with either the Netherlands or the European Union. Bolle Joes has exploited this legal loophole to the fullest. According to reports from the Guardian and Reuters, he lives there under the alias Omar Sheriff and has built an entire logistical network to move cocaine from Latin America to Europe without being stopped.
The cocaine route according to the "Bolle Joes" model
What makes Bolle Joes so powerful is his personal transportation infrastructure. According to the DEA, who have been following his operations for years, this trafficker does not rely on dangerous containers or merchant ships that can be searched. The use of private jets is his main method. The cocaine is sourced directly from Latin America and transported on direct flights to Sierra Leone.
This African country, known for its high corruption and weak border surveillance, is the perfect starting point. From Sierra Leone, the drugs are redirected to European ports. Europol has reported that this method has given Bolle Joes a huge advantage over the years. While other cartels lose their cargo in Spain, the Netherlands or Belgium, Bolle Joes has created a route that bypasses almost all checkpoints. But this route has not been without conflict.
Clashes with Albanians

Përgjatë viteve, kanë ndodhur përplasje të shumta me grupe shqiptare për shkak të prishjeve të pazareve. Sipas dosjeve të Europol-it të konsultuara nga mediat ndërkombëtare, në këto situata Bolle Joes njihet për ashpërsinë.
Leijdekkers ka hyrë në një aleancë të re me mafian marokene. Kjo lidhje ka ndryshuar ekuilibrat në tregun evropian. Por çdo aleancë e re sjell edhe tensione të reja. Dhe në këtë rast, burime të DEA-s të cilët kanë monitoruar lëvizjet e tij tregojnë se Bolle Joes është përfshirë në një konflikt të madh me grupe shqiptare. Shkak është bërë një ngarkesë e humbur kokaine. Nuk bëhet fjalë për një grabitje të thjeshtë, por për një prishje të rëndë besimi që ka lënë pas tensione të papara. Lidhjet me pushtetin në Sierra Leone
Bolle Joes nuk mbijeton vetëm falë avionëve privatë dhe rrugëve të fshehta. Mbijeton sepse ka diçka që pak trafikantë e kanë: mbrojtje në nivel shtetëror. Raportimet e Guardian dhe Reuters kanë zbuluar se Leijdekkers është në marrëdhënie me Agnes Bio, vajzën e presidentit të Sierra Leones, Julius Maada Bio. Tre burime të pavarura të cituara nga Reuters pretendojnë se Bolle Joes është martuar me të. Dhe provat vizuale nuk mungojnë.
Në një video të postuar në Facebook nga Zonja e Parë e Sierra Leones, Leijdekkers shihet më 1 janar 2025 në një meshë në Tihun. Aty ai rrinte ulur vetëm dy rreshta pas presidentit, pranë vajzës së tij. Për dikë që është në listat e të kërkuarve të Europol, kjo nuk është thjesht një arritje. Është një demonstrim force.
Falë këtyre lidhjeve, Bolle Joes lëviz i lirë në Freetown. Ka krijuar një rrjet droge në vetë Sierra Leone dhe dyshohet nga burime të DEA-s se ka korruptuar zyrtarë të lartë lokalë për të siguruar mbrojtjen e operacioneve të tij. Për Holandën, kjo është një makth ligjor. Pa marrëveshje ekstradimi dhe me mbrojtje të nivelit të lartë brenda vendit, arrestimi duket pothuajse i pamundur.
Operacionet e dështuara të arrestimit

That's how powerful Bolle Joes has become. Not only does he move freely in an African capital, but he has become so protected that a European state thinks twice before acting against him.
However, European justice has not forgotten him. In June 2025, a court in Rotterdam ordered him to return over 96 million euros in illegal profits. In Belgium, he received 7 years in prison for importing over 100 kilograms of cocaine. And the Netherlands continues to offer a reward of 200 thousand euros for anyone who provides decisive information on his whereabouts. Europol has included him on the priority wanted list in all member states.
But for a man operating on the scale of Bolle Joe, these sums are insignificant. Private jets, presidential connections and lack of extradition make him virtually untouchable.
The last connection with the 40 tons in Spain
In May 2026, The Sierra Leone Telegraph reported that Bolle Joes is suspected of orchestrating a record shipment of over 40 tons of cocaine that the Spanish Guardia Civil seized off the coast of Africa. The DEA has not officially confirmed the connection, but agency sources who spoke on condition of anonymity did not deny the possibility. If true, then the scale of his operations is even greater than previously thought. Leijdekkers’ lawyer has denied the allegations, calling them hearsay. But in the world of international trafficking, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.
Bolle Joes remains at large. In Sierra Leone, he arranges alliances with Moroccans, settles disputes with Albanians over lost shipments, and runs one of the world's largest cocaine empires. And as long as Sierra Leone does not change its stance, he is likely to remain there untraceable. Meanwhile, Europe is looking for him but not finding him. And the broken deals with one of the world's most dangerous traffickers continue to leave behind tensions that are shaking the drug market on both sides of the Atlantic, according to the latest estimates by Europol and the DEA. /Pamphlet
