US President Donald Trump said he had another heated phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump told Axios that he “couldn’t believe it” when he saw Israel launch an attack on Beirut.
"Why did Bibi have to carry out a terrible attack? I was so angry, I told him. He has no damn sense, I let him know that ," Trump said.
However, according to US media, Trump was still hopeful that a deal with Iran would be signed today.
"It delayed the signing by a few hours, it wasn't supposed to happen now, it's scheduled for a few hours from now ," he said.
It is not the first time that Trump has criticized Netanyahu for Israel's actions in recent weeks.
Trump told Axios that he told Netanyahu: "'You better be careful, or you'll be alone very soon.'"
Axios was first to report on a heated phone call between the two leaders last week, when Trump reportedly told Netanyahu he was "crazy."
In a post on Truth Social earlier, Trump called on all sides to "cease fighting," adding that the US and Iran are "very close" to a deal.
