The Socialist Party MP in the Shkodra Region, Marjana Koçeku, has announced that she will no longer be part of the socialist parliamentary group, stating that she will continue her mandate as an independent MP.
The news comes at a time when the Socialist Party is expected to hold a Presidency meeting tomorrow at 09:30, followed by a parliamentary group meeting at 10:00.
According to "A2 CNN", Koçeku was not present at the event organized for the 34th anniversary of the Socialist Party, held at "Italia" Square in Tirana.
Through a public reaction, the MP announced that her decision is related to the beliefs and principles that, according to her, have guided her public engagement since before entering politics.
"From today on, I am an independent MP. My ideals and values are those that I have had and expressed since before I was associated with a party. They define my boundaries," Koçek wrote.
So far, there has been no official reaction from the Socialist Party regarding the decision of the Shkodra MP to leave the parliamentary group.
