The Director of the State Police met with Edison Adri at the Trauma Hospital and reconfirmed the continuation of actions against organized crime.
The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, visited the University Trauma Hospital to meet with Officer Edison Adri, who was injured during the June 4 operation in the area of Bodec Mountain, in Maliq.
The director of the Trauma Hospital, Edlira Bode, was also present at the visit. Hita wished the police officer a speedy recovery and conveyed the institution's support for his health condition.
The operation in which Adri was injured had as its objective the capture of a person considered to be highly dangerous. During the intervention, Officer Enea Mekolli, later declared a Martyr of the Fatherland, lost his life in the line of duty.
Hita emphasized that the Police will continue with professionalism the fight to guarantee the safety of citizens, while adding that the Police will not retreat a single step in the face of crime.
" I came here today to shake your hand, Edison, to wish you a speedy recovery, and to express my deepest gratitude for the courage, dedication, and extraordinary bravery you showed in the face of danger."
The loss of our dear colleague, Enea Mekolli, who fell in the line of duty and is today a Martyr of the Homeland, is a great pain for the entire family of the State Police. Fortunately, you survived the gun attack and today you are among us, giving us strength and hope. Our support, but also that of citizens who respect the law and want order and security, will be unwavering for you and for Enea's family.
I want to guarantee all State Police employees who serve every day with integrity and sacrifice, that they will always have my full support, at all times and in the face of any challenge. I guarantee the citizens that, despite the risk and human costs that this war may bring, we will not retreat a single step in the face of crime. We will continue to be on the front line, with determination, professionalism and dignity, to fight crime and guarantee the safety of citizens , "said Chief of Police Hita.
Meanwhile, the injured officer, Edison Adri, while thanking Hita for the visit, emphasized that the State Police are all together in the fight against organized crime.
"Thank you very much Mr. Director! Your interest, care and coming here again today show a lot and are a great hope for me and for the entire Police. We are all together in the fight against crime and in the service of citizens. Gratitude to you Mr. Director, to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as to all the medical staff for everything they have done and continue to do for me", said Police officer Edison Adri.
