Unprecedented Trump-Netanyahu clash: Everyone hates Israel because of you

A fierce clash between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly occurred after the expansion of Israeli military operations in Lebanon, a development that Washington says endangers negotiations with Iran.

According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid of the American portal Axios , who cites two American officials and a third informed source, Trump spoke to Netanyahu in extremely harsh tones during a private phone call.

According to the report, the US president accused the Israeli prime minister of a lack of gratitude and of leading Israel towards international isolation.

" You're completely out of control. If it weren't for me, you'd be in jail. I'm saving your skin. Now everyone hates you. Everyone hates Israel because of this story ," Trump is quoted as saying to Netanyahu.

Another source told Axios that Trump was "furious" and at one point shouted at the Israeli prime minister: " What the hell are you doing? "

According to US media sources, Trump's anger is related to the way Israel is conducting operations in Lebanon. Although the US president supports the strikes against Hezbollah, he believes that the expansion of the offensive, the attacks in Beirut and the high number of civilian casualties are undermining US diplomatic efforts with Iran.

One of Axios' sources said Trump was particularly concerned about killing civilians and opposed bringing down entire buildings to eliminate a single Hezbollah commander.

The crisis deepened after Iran announced the suspension of negotiations with the US, arguing that the Israeli offensive in Lebanon had become an obstacle to reaching a ceasefire.

However, a few hours later Trump gave a much more diplomatic version of the conversation. On his Truth Social platform, he described the call with Netanyahu as "very productive" and declared that there would be no Israeli troops entering Beirut.

The US president also added that he had a "very good call" with Hezbollah and that the Shiite group had agreed to cease all fire. He said talks with Iran were also continuing apace.

CNN later reported, citing regional sources, that negotiations between the US and Iran have returned to track, despite Tehran's earlier announcement of their suspension.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu has publicly stated that his position has not changed and that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah if the group attacks the north of the country. However, according to Axios, the Israeli prime minister emerged weakened from the call with Trump and ultimately responded to the American president with the words: “Okay, okay, just make sure everything is resolved.”

According to analysts, the tensions between Trump and Netanyahu reflect deeper strategic differences. Trump seeks stability in the Middle East to advance economic relations with Arab countries and advance negotiations with Iran, while Netanyahu remains focused on the fight against Hezbollah and Tehran's allies. / Pamphlet
