The 28th protest of the civic revolt against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the political class began this Saturday in Tirana, with the participation of thousands of citizens from all over Albania and the diaspora.
As in previous protests, the rally was accompanied by banners, national flags and anti-government slogans. After gathering at Skanderbeg Square, the protesters began a march towards the Prime Minister's Office building, where speeches from the podium are expected to be delivered.
The march was accompanied by continuous chants such as: "Edi Rama, you traitor, resign!, "New Albania!", "Without youth, there is no Albania!", "Resign!", "Revolution!", "The end has come!", "Edi Rama, you bastard, wait for the people, they are coming."
Among the banners held by the protesters was a message that read : "The rule of arrogance, the end of patience."
Another banner carried the message: "Albania is not for sale."
While some of the protesters also chanted: "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison!"
Albanians from the diaspora are also participating in today's protest, while Italian MEP Ilaria Salis is also present.
According to the organizers, today's protest will follow the same scenario as previous rallies, with a march through the streets of Tirana and then speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
