The protest that has been taking place against the government for 31 days was also part of the debates in the plenary session of the Parliament, where the head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, responded to his socialist counterpart, Taulant Balla.
Responding to Balla's statements, Bardhi said that the protesters have "thrown him in the trash", while accusing the leader of the socialist group of jealousy towards opposition MPs who, according to him, are among the citizens.
In his speech, the Democratic MP also raised the issue of the burning of the Israeli flag during the protest, demanding clarification from the authorities regarding the authorship of the event.
"You are jealous that you ended up in the trash can, while your fellow MPs are among the citizens. You came here and condemned and did well to tear down the Israeli flag, and well done. But do you know who did it? Who was that masked lady who tore down the flag in front of the police. She entered the institution and we have no statement about who this person is. Are you talking to us about anti-Semitism? Are you canceling Kany West's concert? Others have canceled it," said Bardhi.
Further, he asked Balla to publicly apologize to KLA veterans for the statements made regarding Dritan Goxhaj.
"You apologized to the KLA veterans for your statements about Goxhaj. Did you hear the statement? They expect you to apologize! You presented us with the adoption of the resolution as a historic achievement for Albania in the European integration process, today you refuse to talk about the EP resolution," said Bardhi.
Bardhi also accused the majority of avoiding the debate on the European Parliament resolution regarding the integration process, claiming that the government does not want to face the criticisms addressed in the document.
He added that only Prime Minister Edi Rama, according to him, has an interest in this debate not taking place in Parliament.
"Today you have rejected the EP itself by vote. Not simply because you reject the debate, but the scanner that the EP has given the government. The scanner has shown you to be sick. You suffer from the serious disease of election theft, taxes, corruption, organized crime, says the EP. Only Rama is afraid of this resolution. The MEPs tore up Taulant's email and voted to repeal the law on protected areas. Today we are not talking about the EP resolution because it will turn out that the email of colleagues was torn up and thrown in the trash. If that report is as you have falsely sold to every Albanian, how is it possible that you do not say let's have the debate. You should have instigated it. The law tells us that when the Council of Ministers comes to report on the progress of the negotiations, the Parliament holds a debate and adopts a resolution. You reject the debate because the European Commission's report on election theft, the use of the administration in elections, protection against corruption with the protection of the former deputy. "The prime minister said it doesn't affect me, so I defended myself. A corrupt person cannot be defended with a political vote in parliament because this undermines Albania's path to the EU," said Bardhi.
