Vllaznia has started its adventure in the Conference League with a victory, defeating Malisheva 2-1 in the first match of the first qualifying round, held at the "Loro Boriçi" stadium.
The match started in the worst possible way for the Shkodran team, as the visitors took the lead in the third minute. Laurent Xhylani scored a spectacular goal directly from a corner kick, surprising the home goalkeeper and giving Malisheva the lead.
Vllaznia's reaction came in the 36th minute. After a quick counterattack and an assist from Rrok Toma, Klint Qato finished accurately with his right foot, restoring the balance. The first half ended with the score 1-1.
At the start of the second half, the match took a different turn, as Malisheva was reduced to 10 men. Skovgard was sent off after a last-man tackle on Gerald Kubazi.
The numerical advantage was exploited by Vllaznia, who found the winning goal through Emiljano Musta. The defender perfectly executed a free kick, scoring his first goal in the red and blue jersey and sealing the 2-1 success of the team from Shkodër.
The return match between the two teams will take place in a week and will determine the team that advances to the second round of the Conference League.
In another first-round match, Shkëndija e Tetovo took a big step towards qualification. The Macedonian team triumphed 5-0 in a away match against Europa FC in Gibraltar. The goals were scored by Ndzengue in the 28th minute, Tamba in the 52nd and 75th minutes, Kryeziu in the 83rd and veteran Besart Ibraimi in the 88th minute.
