"Fraud the farmers", Berisha: Billionaires buy oil for 60 lek and open
Berisha

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has accused the government from the parliament's rostrum, stating that the parliament is not dealing with the real problems of Albanian citizens.

One of the main issues he raised was the subsidization of oil for farmers. Berisha rejected the prime minister's statements that European Union countries no longer subsidize oil, calling them untrue.

He challenged the majority to identify a single EU country that does not provide fuel support to agriculture, while emphasizing that in some countries, including Germany, subsidies have increased.

According to Berisha, the current situation is detrimental to farmers and the economy, and he called for urgent intervention to restore oil subsidies and ease the fiscal burden on this sector. He added that this measure would help not only farmers, but also public transport, improving services for citizens.

In conclusion, Berisha requested that the issue be put to a vote in the Assembly, describing it as a necessity for supporting one of the most important sectors of the economy.

"This parliament cannot have, if it takes into account the interests of Albanian citizens, on its agenda anything other than the thefts of the Rama-Balluku binomial.  The second issue that this parliament must debate and resolve is the oil issue. Your leader declared to the socialists in Lushnja that Europe no longer subsidizes oil.

A shameful, unscrupulous fraud and you who laugh, you make a slave here. Because I challenge every person and every Albanian, to find a single EU member country that does not subsidize oil for farmers. On the contrary, Germany increased the subsidy this year and other countries can too.

To go and declare just because they are socialists and you can tell them anything, that Europe no longer subsidizes oil, is a cynical act, a deception towards about 40 percent of Albanians, who in truth are the part that sweats the most, that sacrifices the most, whether for a living, or for their own and the country's prosperity.

So you who are here, either find a country in the EU that does not provide oil subsidies, or brand your leader as an ordinary fraud, who in every word utters a deception, and we decide here to restore the oil subsidy by law by removing any tax on it not only for farmers, but also for public transportation.

You heard that bus lines were reduced by 40 percent, so let's make an urgent intervention here to subsidize farmers.

"The oil billionaires come and buy oil for 600 lek, and they are important in the economy because they open bottles of champagne with Rama.  This is a shame, do you or they represent the farmers or not? You should put this issue to a vote," said Berisha.
