A large fire has engulfed the hills of Selita. The flames are visible from afar in the city of Tirana, especially in nearby neighborhoods. Meanwhile, it is learned that firefighters have been notified and are heading to the scene to begin extinguishing the flames.
We remind you that during the last 24 hours, 22 fire outbreaks have been reported, of which 5 are still active and 1 is under monitoring. These outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Bulqizë, Rrogozhinë, Kavajë, Vlorë, Himarë, Selenica, Librazhd, Malësi e Madhe, Mallakastër and Mirditë.
In Tirana, work continued today to extinguish the fire that broke out on 10.07.2025 in the village of Zambishë, which spread to the villages of Okshtun, Levonje, Himenrajë, Memollaj, Thertor, Koçaj, Sheshaj, Brendaj (Lekaj and Sinaballaj administrative units, Rrogozhinë municipality).
Last night, the fire reached large proportions, especially in the villages of Thartor, Sheshaj, Prendaj and Dakaj, requiring aerial intervention with two Armed Forces helicopters, which helped extinguish several fires that threatened homes, olive groves and pine forests.
The firefighting forces of the Rrogozhina municipality worked on the ground with 6 vehicles, 30 officers, 20 municipal service employees, 20 local residents and two AF helicopters. So far, about 80-90 ha of bushes and thorns have been burned, as well as over 70 young and centuries-old olive trees.
