A fight that ended in the use of weapons was recorded this afternoon in neighborhood no. 4 of the city of Saranda, where one person was injured as a result.
The incident is reported to have occurred on "Mitat Hoxha" street, while a 56-year-old man, Adil Veli, was injured and is suspected of being hit with the barrel of a gun during the fight. The shots are reported to have been accidental and were fired during the fight by accident.
The 56-year-old, Veli, on the other hand, is known to be a former police officer and has currently been transported to Saranda Hospital to receive the necessary medical attention.
The causes of the incident and the perpetrators are still unknown. Meanwhile, numerous police forces have arrived at the scene, surrounded the area and are working to uncover the circumstances of the incident and capture the perpetrators.
" Today, at around 19:10, in neighborhood no. 4, Saranda, it is suspected that during a conflict, citizen AV, 56 years old, was injured with a hard object, suspected to be the barrel of a pistol, and is in hospital, under the care of doctors.
From the preliminary examination of the scene, it is suspected that during the moment of impact with the barrel of the gun, the weapon was involuntarily fired into the air, without causing any consequences. As material evidence, a firearm cartridge was found and seized at the scene.
"The investigative group is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, identify and capture the suspected perpetrator, as well as for its full legal documentation ," the police statement said.
