The court hearing against former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi has been held amid tensions and repeated interruptions.
During the trial, the panel decided to fine Monika Kryemadhi and her lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, for interventions made without the court's permission during the hearing.
According to the court's decision, Kryemadhi and Cakrani were fined 10,000 lek each, on the grounds that they violated the solemnity and normal conduct of the court session.
The court hearing against former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi continued this Thursday with the reading of the request for trial by the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime.
It is learned that during the presentation of evidence, prosecutor Sotir Kllapi stated that the verification of the bank accounts of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) resulted in the fact that, out of approximately 416 thousand dollars reported by the lobbying company GSIS, LSI itself paid 93 thousand dollars.
According to the prosecutor, the investigations are also focused on the services that the GSIS company provided to the LSI. He said that the company has stated that at various times it has organized meetings for Ilir Meta with officials from the Department of Justice and other American institutions, including the agricultural sector.
Kllapi added that payments were found to have been made beyond the three-month period provided for in the contract and that the company had sent several people to Albania as part of its commitments, whose activities were verified by the prosecution.
According to SPAK, in addition to official meetings, during his visits to the United States, Ilir Meta also held other meetings that, according to the prosecution, are related to services provided beyond the contractual period.
