US President Donald Trump said that during his most recent conversation with Vladimir Putin, the Russian leader asked him to help resolve the war in Ukraine.
Trump made the statement while speaking at the American Business Forum in Miami, according to Ukrinform.
"I spoke to Putin two weeks ago and he said, 'We've been trying to resolve this war for ten years, but we haven't been able to do it. You have to resolve it ,'" Trump said.
He added that he "solves some of these things within an hour," without clarifying what exactly he meant.
Trump also criticized the United Nations for failing to provide assistance in mediating the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as other conflicts that, according to him, he has managed to stop since taking office.
Trump last spoke with Putin on October 16, the day before Trump's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
