Former Milan sporting director Igli Tare has given his first interview to Italian media since leaving the red and black club. In a statement for "SportMediaset", Tare spoke about Massimiliano Allegri, the future of Milan, Rafael Leao and the prospects of the Italian national team.
Tare said that he is currently enjoying time with his family, after completing his experience at Milan.
Commenting on Allegri's appointment to Napoli, he described it as a right decision and in line with the objectives of the Neapolitan club.
" Allegri is a coach of the highest level. Napoli's choice was wise and in line with the ambitions that the club has and should continue to have for the next season. Max and I speak often. Every two or three days we call each other. We have also made some mistakes, but Allegri is a coach who has done very well in the history of Italian football and will continue to do so ," declared Tare.
As for Milan, the former sporting director expressed his desire for the club to find stability and build a long-term project.
He also commented on Rafael Leao's situation, hinting that the player's desire for new challenges could signal the end of a cycle.
" I don't know if it's good or bad that he wants new experiences, but when a player has this desire, it means that the relationship has reached the end and that a cycle has closed. His qualities are indisputable. He just needs to find continuity during the matches, because he is a player who can decide them alone ," said Tare.
In the end, he settled on the Italian national team, supporting the idea of a restart based on Roberto Mancini's experience and the activation of young talents.
" Italy can undoubtedly be reborn from the experience of Mancini, the last national team coach to win a trophy. This is the moment to make bold choices and trust the youth. There are players with perspective and the results of the youth teams show this. You need courage, you need to give them confidence and know how to wait for them ," concluded Tare.
