A 63-year-old man and his 29-year-old son have been declared wanted by the Kukës Police after they cultivated a plot of 215 cannabis plants in the village of Geshtenjë.
During checks in the territory of the Kalis administrative unit, in the place called "Zabeli i Madh", officers discovered 215 suspected narcotic Cannabis sativa plants cultivated, which were destroyed by burning.
According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the plot was cultivated by citizens FR, 63 years old, and MR, 29 years old, residents of the village of Geshtenjë, who are father and son.
The police also searched the 63-year-old's apartment, where they found and seized about 3 kilograms of cannabis.
In this case, the 63-year-old's wife, VR, 52 years old, suspected of the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", was proceeded with at large.
Meanwhile, the headman of the village of Geshtenjë has also been placed under investigation for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".
"The services of the Kukes Police Commissariat, in continuation of their work to prevent and crack down on cases of cultivation of narcotic plants, based on information provided by police intelligence, have finalized the police operation codenamed "Zabeli".
As a result of the operation, in the administrative unit of Kalis, in the territory of the village of Geshtenjë, in the place called “Zabeli i Madh”, 215 suspected narcotic plants of Cannabis sativa were found to have been cultivated, which were destroyed by burning. Preliminary investigations suspect that the plants were cultivated by citizens FR, 63 years old, and MR, 29 years old (father and son), residents of the village of Geshtenjë, who were declared wanted and work to capture them continues.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Kukës, for further action," the police announced.
