Italian authorities have blocked the website Cfake.com, which published hundreds of images created with artificial intelligence that depicted politicians, actresses and other public figures in intimate situations without their consent.
Among the people featured in these images were US President Donald Trump's wife, Melania Trump, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who recently publicly denounced a similar case of manipulation of her image.
Italian prosecutors secured the approval of Judge Angela Gerardi to block the site. Because its servers were located in the United States, authorities were unable to seize the platform, but instead ordered access to it blocked.
The site had a section called “Images Jobs Politician,” which published images of prominent women from national and international politics, created without their authorization. The platform also contained material that featured actresses in scenes with sexual content or full nudity.
The investigation began in October 2025 after alerts received by the Italian Postal Police regarding the publication of audiovisual materials involving women from politics, art, sports and culture.
In May, Giorgia Meloni posted on Facebook a fake photo created with artificial intelligence, where her face was superimposed on the body of a woman in lingerie. She warned that “deepfake” technologies can be used to deceive, manipulate and harm anyone.
"Deepfakes are a dangerous tool, because they can deceive, manipulate and hurt anyone. I can protect myself. Many others cannot. That's why we must always verify before we believe," declared Meloni.
The site had the typical appearance of adult platforms, was in English, and only required a self-declaration of age to access the content.
As part of international cooperation, the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit of the US Department of Homeland Security announced that it had asked the Department of Justice to take action against the Cfake.com domain, based on the federal law "Take It Down Act".
Authorities consider the operation an important result of international cooperation in the fight against the abuse of artificial intelligence technologies and the non-consensual distribution of artificially generated sexual material, with the aim of protecting the dignity, image and rights of victims.
