New details have been made public regarding the sudden death of renowned Turkish actress Ece İrtem, who lost her life at the age of 35, just one day after celebrating her birthday.
According to Turkish media, the Institute of Forensic Medicine has completed a preliminary report on the actress's death. The document found no signs of violence, poisoning or trauma on her body, and investigators are considering a heart attack as the cause of death. However, authorities say the final cause will only be determined after the full autopsy report is released.
Following her death on June 15, the Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. The family's lawyer, Uğur Gökkoyun, stated that the actress passed away in her apartment during the morning hours and that every lead is being verified by the competent authorities.
The investigation file also mentions several claims, according to which Ece İrtem may have been under treatment with antidepressants and the night before her death may have consumed alcohol along with prescription medications. Up to this stage of the investigation, this information has not been officially confirmed by the authorities.
Another lead that has been requested to be investigated is related to a possible monkey bite during a trip to Thailand by the actress. The family's lawyer has announced that several marks have been observed on her body, while he has requested that experts verify whether they could have caused health complications. This hypothesis also remains in the verification phase.
Meanwhile, the lawyer has denied the statements attributed to the actress's mother in several media outlets, explaining that she is still in a difficult emotional state and has not issued any official statement.
Investigations into Ece İrtem's death continue, while authorities are expected to shed light on the exact cause of her death after the completion of the forensic examination.
