Singer Alban Skënderaj has reacted publicly after his portrait was included in the protest action in Tirana, where several well-known public figures were targeted for their lack of stance on recent developments in the country.
Through a post on social media, the singer announced that the "MOTIV" concert, scheduled for August in Vlora, will not take place as scheduled. He announced that the event has been postponed indefinitely due to the current situation.
According to Skënderaj, the project had been prepared for months and involved a great deal of artistic and organizational effort. However, he assessed that the circumstances created made it necessary to review this plan.
In his response, the artist emphasized that music, in his belief, serves to bring people together and convey hope, especially in difficult times. He concluded the message by expressing the desire for the situation to be resolved peacefully and civilly.
Skënderaj's decision comes after the debate created on social networks regarding the stances of artists during the protests. Days earlier, Yll Limani held a planned concert in Tirana, which was accompanied by critical reactions from part of the public.
