The Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, has reacted after the incidents that occurred on Saturday evening near Police Station No. 3 in Tirana, where a group of protesters threw hard objects towards the police building.
Lamallari says he condemns these acts of violence, which he says have been escalated by social networks and various public actors.
"A concrete example of the cycle of violence that begins with hatred incited by an irresponsible statement, continues with incitement on social networks and ends with acts of violence that have no place in European Albania," the minister wrote.
He also accused those who, according to him, have fueled tensions through comments and messages on social media, adding that violence cannot be justified under any circumstances.
"We are closer than ever to fulfilling our national aspiration and nothing is stopping us ," Lamallari concludes.
