March towards Rinas/ Police prosecute 19 people for blocking the Tirana-Durrës axis
Tirana Police have taken criminal action against 19 people who allegedly organized and led the protest march towards the "Mother Teresa" International Airport, an action that led to the blockage of the Tirana-Durres highway for several hours and the creation of heavy traffic on one of the country's main axes.
In an official announcement, the blue uniforms announced that following investigations conducted by the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector, criminal proceedings have been initiated against 19 citizens, who are considered organizers or responsible for blocking the road to Rinas airport.
According to the police, the persons prosecuted are accused of the criminal offenses of "Obstructing the circulation of means of transport", "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings" and "Disturbing public order and peace".
The authorities also announce that during the investigative actions two vehicles were seized, while the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further actions.
The announcement states that the organizers had announced the holding of a rally at "Skënderbej" Square and then in front of the Prime Minister's Office, from 18:00 to 22:00. However, according to the police, during the protest there were calls for the continuation of the march towards "Mother Teresa" Airport, going outside the previously announced itinerary.

The announcement by Shkodra MP Marjana Koçeku that she would run as an independent is said to have destabilized Edi Rama.
In a fit of rage, he called a meeting of the Presidency and the Parliamentary Group, a notice he also distributed to the media, in the hope of getting a reaction from the so-called "neo-mountaineer", as a result of the conflict that arose after the issue of the guesthouse in the Lake Koman valley.
But the MP, according to sources, has not broken the silence at all and has not communicated with anyone.
Rama has sent many emissaries to attempt a peaceful negotiation, but it seems that he has not succeeded, as he has received the same response: the position has been given and will not change.
Fearing that a domino effect could be created, he has suspended the meetings of the Presidency and the Parliamentary Group for the time being, leaving the official position of the majority in suspense after the Shkodra MP openly aligned herself with the protest.
In this tense situation, as usually happens, the propaganda kitchen has begun to produce conspiracy theories with enemies, agents and polyagents, to keep the stunned militants warm.

Në Gjykatën e Posaçme Kundër Korrupsionit dhe Krimit të Organizuar (GJKKO) pritet të zhvillohet sot seanca e parë e gjykimit në themel ndaj kryebashkiakut të Tiranës, Erion Veliaj, si dhe të pandehurve të tjerë në të njëjtën dosje që kanë zgjedhur të gjykohen me procedurë të zakonshme.

Gjatë seancës së fundit, trupi gjykues i kërkoi prokurorit të çështjes, Ols Dado, që t’i vërë në dispozicion Veliajt, në ambientet e paraburgimit, mijëra faqe të tjera dokumentesh. Kryebashkiaku ka pretenduar vazhdimisht se nuk i janë dorëzuar të gjitha aktet hetimore të dosjes.
Një tjetër kërkesë e Veliajt, e cila vijon të mos pranohet nga gjykata, është transmetimi live i seancave gjyqësore. Për mediat, avokati i tij, Plarent Ndreca, deklaroi se i është drejtuar Këshillit të Lartë Gjyqësor me një kërkesë për shpalljen të pavlefshme të nenit 14 të një udhëzimi të këtij institucioni. Sipas tij, ky nen po përdoret nga gjykatat për të kufizuar transparencën dhe për të mos lejuar transmetimin e seancave.

Në fjalën e saj, VanHorn theksoi se Shqipëria duhet të garantojë jo vetëm hapjen ndaj investimeve, por edhe mbrojtjen e interesave kombëtare dhe standardeve ndërkombëtare.
“Albania’s Foreign Direct Investment Screening Framework is not just a bureaucratic exercise, it is a strategic statement. It shows that Albania is open for business, but in a way that protects Albania’s national interests and meets international standards. And investors are paying attention, including American ones. American companies are here, in energy, construction and technology, and many more are looking to come,” she declared.
But the American diplomat hinted that the arrival of new investments is not automatic. According to her, businesses require concrete guarantees about how the market and institutions work.
“Investors need confidence that the rules are clear, that the playing field is level, and that strategic sectors are protected from actors who do not play by the same rules as us. When President Trump announced America’s investment policy, he emphasized a simple principle: welcome investments that strengthen economic growth while ensuring that critical infrastructure and strategic sectors remain safe. Albania’s approach to investment screening is built on the same principle,” VanHorn said.
In another significant message, the US representative warned that laws are not enough if they are not implemented in practice.
