On July 7, 2022, the State Police announced that the analyst and investigative journalist, host of the show "Ju Flet Moska", Kastriot Myftaraj, committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building.
The file on him was quickly closed and classified as "Suicide", without investigating the causes and circumstances of the jump from the height of the apartment, because the investigation into him was not conducted on the suspicion of "murder", although there was evidence and evidence of such an act.
The family friend of the late journalist Kastriot Myftaraj, lawyer Kastriot Frashëri, stated in the media that the police, prosecution and court that dismissed the case as "suicide" left out of the investigation key witnesses, important evidence and a person suspected of the murder.
Testimony from friends and associates of journalist Kastriot Myftaraj, concrete accusations from his mother, and evidence of traces found in his apartment, computer, and phone, led the police and prosecution to reasonable suspicions of a "friend" colleague as the possible perpetrator of the murder.
He is known by the pseudonym "Bashkim Përmeti", used before 1990 when he was a security officer in the army, while after 1992 he used it when he "landed" as an associate of SHIK, the police and the prosecution within the staffs of several newspapers, supposedly as a journalist of the black chronicle.
The investigations left out of the file revealed and created a line of evidence that proved that "Bashkim Përmeti" had become attached to Kastriot Myftaraj and had created so much trust in him that he freely entered his house.
From the testimonies of people from the same social circle and from telephone communications, it was also revealed that "Bashkim Përmeti" had approached Kastriot Myftaraj as a private engagement, entrusted by politicians, government officials, justice and police officials, and powerful businessmen, who were the subject of investigations published by journalist Myftaraj.
The fact that the door to the apartment of the deceased Kastriot Myftaraj was open after the act of his jumping from a height was not part of the investigation, while on the door handle, on the door, walls and on other furniture inside the house there were fresh fingerprints and shoe prints, which did not belong to journalist Myftaraj or his mother.
His mother's testimony was not even investigated, as she fully suspected that the murder was committed by this trusted person of journalist Kastriot Myftaraj, who turns out to have the pseudonym "Bashkim Përmeti".
According to the statement made by the mother of the deceased Kastriot Myftaraj to the police and prosecutor, there were suspicions that his friend had attempted to kill him before during a lunch, by putting dangerous substances in his food and drink, which caused him health damage.
These statements about the friend "Bashkim Përmeti", as Kastriot Myftaraj himself called him, who knew his old stories, were also filed in court.
While the judicial body did not ask the prosecution to conduct investigations into them and complete the file, investigations are conducted even when someone falls from a tree or is killed by lightning and everyone sees it.
But the suspect and accused of carrying out the murder of journalist Kastriot Myftaraj did not even go to his friend's funeral or console his mother who treated him like her own son.
When suspicions and accusations erupted within media circles that he was the author of the murder of journalist Myftaraj, his friend "Bashkim Përmeti" made an angry public reaction.
He had filled it with false statements, distortion of facts, excuses, denial of contact and visits to the house on the day of the murder, regret, denial of lunch together, and psychologically aggravated attitudes.
Meanwhile, during the 4 years after the murder of journalist Kastriot Myftaraj, the accused friend "Bashkim Përmeti" lives a life of luxury and has contacts with politicians, businessmen, police and justice officials, who the late journalist had denounced in his investigations. /Pamphlet
