A large-scale fire has broken out at a paper factory in the area of the former Metallurgical Plant in Elbasan, creating an alarming situation and covering the area with thick smoke.
The flames spread rapidly through the building, with plumes of smoke visible from far-flung areas of the city. The intensity of the fire has caused significant air pollution and concern for residents in the area.
After receiving the notification, all vehicles and teams of the Elbasan Fire Service were sent to the scene, which are working to isolate the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby businesses and facilities.
So far, there have been no reports of injuries, while authorities have not yet provided official information on the causes of the fire.
Meanwhile, the firefighting operation continues, while the assessment of material damage will be carried out once the situation is fully under control.
