In the court session against Erion Veliaj, the Special Prosecution Office requested the dismissal of five preliminary requests submitted by the defense.
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, argued that the legislation provides for the holding of public hearings, but not their live broadcast.
"The court has made a decision on the public session, without the presence of cameras with live broadcast. Public sessions cannot be compared with live sessions. The law clearly provides, it says public session, today we have journalists and interested persons present. The request for live broadcast is not based on the law. In criminal cases in the region, Europe or the USA, live broadcasts are not broadcast. The court has expressed several times in favor of a non-live public session.
"As for the date of the hearing, the court should consider the possibility of holding the hearing every day. But since we are prosecutors and we see the workload of the court, we see it as very normal to hold the hearings once a week," said Dumani.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor in the case, Ols Dado, defended the defendant's position in the glass cage, emphasizing that this measure constitutes a guarantee of safety and is not considered humiliating treatment.
"The glass is a guarantee in the courtroom, the defendant stands alone, the ECHR has dealt with it in its decision. It says that it does not constitute a humiliating element. The defendant's request should not be accepted. The opening of digital evidence is irrelevant, they are reflected in the investigative files. I do not see that the opening of digital evidence leads to invalidity.
With the anonymous report of Nesti Angoni and Nasta Pëllumbi, there are unidentified people involved in the investigative acts and will be debated in the court debates. They have been reflected.
