Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha accused SPAK prosecutor Altin Dumani during a press conference of defending Edi Rama in connection with what is known as the Aruba meeting. Berisha has asked the Laws Committee to seek explanations from SPAK regarding the investigations.
"I have appreciated and continue to appreciate the investigation of the Aruba file, the release of the list of businessmen implicated in this file and of the traffickers, but I never accept and never agree with the concealment of government officials or the government present at the meeting.
Because it is precisely this presence that proves that Edi Rama is the head of the narco-state. Edi Rama sends his government officials to meetings with drug lords and guarantees them the investment of their criminal money in Tirana and Albania. I condemn Altin Duman with the greatest force, he behaves in front of Albanians as if this is a private investigation, he commits a shameful act.
Every Albanian knows that there were governors in Aruba and he hid them only and only to protect Edi Rama. But why Edi Rama? Because no governor could go to that famous meeting without Edi Rama's authorization.
I ask the Laws Committee to urgently call the prosecutor for explanations. Albanians need to know what the true face of Edi Rama is and his role in Aruba, who are the governors he sent to that meeting. There is nothing more serious.
It is one of the biggest affairs that not only proves what we have repeatedly denounced, the narco-state. It proves that the towers are monuments to drugs and crime. So, the DP is demanding with the greatest force the release of the names of the officials who were in Aruba.
"I consider this the most serious act. The investigation is state and not private. Altin Dumani is a prosecutor caught after he himself laundered money in his apartments," Berisha said.
