The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, reacted this Tuesday to Prime Minister Edi Rama's statements regarding his private visit to Switzerland, accusing him of fraud and demanding the establishment of a parliamentary investigative commission to verify trips made by charter plane.
In a press conference from the Democratic Party headquarters, Berisha refuted Rama's claim that he and his wife have never traveled for private purposes with state money.
The leading democrat demanded that all of the prime minister's trips be investigated to determine which of them were official and which were private or family, claiming that these movements have cost the state budget millions of euros.
"Regarding his trip to Switzerland. He says that he and his wife have never traveled for private purposes with state money. I tell him that you are a fraud, not 2 meters tall, but 2 kilometers tall. If you keep it, come on, let's create a commission, analyze 140 trips with Ismail available. How many were official and how many were private and family? You have no shame and in every sentence you will bring out a fraud. Order, keep them. Why is the parliamentary investigative commission not allowed for your 140 trips, which cost the country 23 million euros? And now you swear from there that I have never traveled with state money, on private trips", said Berisha.
