A gas cylinder exploded this afternoon in the "1 Maji" neighborhood of Fier, causing panic and injuring two people. Sources from the scene indicate that the apartment where the explosion occurred was not simply inhabited, but was also used as a small gas trading point.
Two people, citizens ET, 63 years old, and AR, 41 years old, both residents of Fier, suffered burns from the explosion. They were immediately transported to the regional hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment and are out of danger to their lives.
The incident alarmed residents of the area, who intervened with emergency vehicles to help contain the flames until the arrival of firefighters. The latter managed to neutralize the fire and prevent the flames from spreading further.
Police have confirmed that at around 18:30, it is suspected that the cylinder accidentally caught fire. The investigation team is at the scene and is conducting investigations to fully clarify the causes of the incident. The case once again raises the alarm about the safety of the use and storage of gas cylinders in residential areas.
