SPAK has provided details on the arrest of Adi Çoba, an internationally wanted person within the framework of Operation "URA", who was located and handcuffed on July 2 in the Shkozet area, in Durrës.

According to the Special Prosecution, the operation was carried out by the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH), in collaboration with the DIA Operational Center of Bari, within the framework of the joint investigative team between SPAK and the Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari.

At the time of his arrest, Çoba was carrying an automatic pistol with two magazines, as well as four suspected forged documents, including an identity card and an Italian driving license. According to SPAK, these elements indicate his frequent movements and connections to Italy.

After his arrest, he was escorted to Durrës detention center, where he will remain pending extradition procedures.

SPAK recalls that Adi Çoba was one of the people who escaped the international operation "URA", carried out on May 21, 2025 by Albanian, Italian and Belgian authorities. After the operation, investigations continued in Durrës and several cities in the north and south of Italy, making it possible to locate him.

According to the Special Prosecution Office, Çoba was arrested in Shkozet, an area identified as one of the bases of activity of the Troplini-Doçi criminal group, suspected of operating between the Puglia region, Albania and the Netherlands.

"The National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) in cooperation with the DIA Operational Center in Bari arrested on July 2 in Shkozet, Durrës, the Albanian citizen A.Ç, who was declared internationally wanted.

Citizen A.Ç was wanted as part of the international operation "URA", carried out between Albanian, Italian and Belgian authorities on May 21, 2025.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of an automatic pistol with two magazines as well as four forged documents, including an Italian identity card and license.

These elements indicate frequent movement as well as a connection to Italy. At the end of the operation, the suspect was escorted to the Durrës detention facility, awaiting extradition procedures.

The operation to arrest him was carried out within the framework of a joint investigative team between SPAK and the Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari.

On May 21, 2025, SPAK and the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate of Bari, with the support of Interpol, the Office of the Security Expert at the Italian Embassy in Tirana and the State Police, executed 52 arrest warrants (two issued by the Special Court of First Instance) against persons accused of international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, laundering of the proceeds of crime and other related crimes. 

The seizure of real estate and movable assets in Albania and Italy, worth several million euros, was also carried out.

After confirming that several Albanian citizens had managed to escape Operation "URA", SPAK and Italian authorities extended the investigations to Durrës and several cities in the north and south of Italy, making it possible to locate him.

The citizen arrested in Shkozet, the main center of the Troplini-Doçi criminal group, which operated between Puglia, Albania and the Netherlands, was located in his neighborhood. "- SPAK reports.

Operation "URA" led to the execution of 52 arrest warrants against persons suspected of international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, money laundering and other related criminal offences. During the operation, movable and immovable assets in Albania and Italy, worth several million euros, were also seized.
