Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari has commented on the actions of the BKH without the State Police, announced by the head of SPAK himself during reports to the Parliament. The first case to be arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation was Adi Çoba, in an operation that was finalized without the State Police.
But although SPAK has expressed reservations about the Blues, Minister Lamallari emphasizes that this is not about a lack of trust in the State Police structures, but that the law provides that the BKH must also implement security measures.
"The State Police is evaluated by EUROPOL and EURJUST. The cooperation they have with the Albanian authorities, including the State Police, was evaluated, which from year to year demonstrates an increase in the proactivity of participation in operations coordinated by Europol. These are assessments by independent authorities, EC agencies. Regarding cooperation with SPAK, our goal is to strengthen cooperation, it is a legal obligation. The State Police, in implementing legal obligations, has held the greatest weight in implementing security measures, not only with the general prosecutor's office but also with SPAK.
"As for the implementation of some security measures, like the last case, as long as the law provides for it 10 years ago when we approved the justice reform, giving the opportunity not only for BKH officers to have the attributes of the judicial police, but also to implement security measures, I see it as the implementation of the law of what we planned when we conceived and approved the justice reform. It is a legal obligation both for judicial police officers, whether they are employees of the general or special prosecutor's office, but also for the state police who are there to implement any measure delegated to them by the prosecutor of the case ," Lamallari said for "Report TV."
