Fier Police have discovered an environment adapted for drying and processing narcotics in the Divjaka Reservoir area, where 44 kilograms of suspected cannabis were seized.
The operation, codenamed "Coordination", conducted after ground and aerial drone checks, led to the discovery of 37 kilograms of cannabis in the process of drying and 7 kilograms of cannabis in the form of bottles. The narcotic substance was seized as material evidence.
Following the investigations, the Fier Prosecutor's Office initiated criminal proceedings in absentia for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office" against three employees of the Regional Administration of Protected Areas in the Fier district: Edison Toromëni , with the duty of sector manager, Festim Hoxha , management specialist, and Gazmor Allka , with the duty of guard.
According to the Police, investigations are ongoing to identify and capture the perpetrator or perpetrators of the cultivation of narcotic plants, while checks in the territory will continue to crack down on this criminal activity.
"As a result of intensive controls in the territory of the Fier district, from the ground and from the air, with drones, the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Divjaka Police Commissariat, based on information obtained in operational channels, have finalized the operation codenamed "Coordination".
During the operation, in the place called “Divjaka Reservoir”, on state land, an environment adapted for drying and processing narcotic plants was found. In this environment, 37 kilograms of suspected cannabis narcotic substance in the process of drying and 7 kilograms of suspected cannabis narcotic substance in the form of bottles were found. The narcotic substance was seized as material evidence, with the aim of conducting an expertise.
Following the procedural actions, the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Sector at the Fier Police Department referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated in absentia for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", against 3 employees of the Regional Administration of Protected Areas in the Fier district, citizens:
-ET, 33 years old, with the duty of sector manager, FH, 37 years old, with the duty of management specialist and GA, 53 years old, with the duty of guard.
Work continues, under the direction of the Fier Prosecutor's Office, to identify and capture the perpetrator(s) of the cultivation of narcotic plants.
"The Fier Local Police Directorate continues intensive controls from the air, by drone, and from the ground, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic plants," the police announced.
