The electronic devices were disassembled at the Crime Laboratory, while new evidence may influence the change of charge against the suspect.
New details have emerged from the investigation into the murder of Eglant Koç. Computers seized from Armand Shakaj's business have revealed data related to cryptocurrency accounts, reinforcing the investigation team's suspicions that the murder of Eglant Koç may have had financial motives related to this activity.
According to sources, the electronic devices were examined at the Scientific Police Laboratory, where evidence was discovered that is expected to be important in the continuation of the investigation. Based on these findings, the prosecution is expected to reassess the legal qualification of the case, which is currently registered for the criminal offense of "intentional murder".
Meanwhile, Armand Shakaj remains wanted by authorities. He is suspected of killing his friend, Eglant Koçi, and then transporting the body, throwing it into an abyss in a deep area of the Elbasan region.
The murder of the young man and the investigation leads
The DNA analysis results have confirmed that the body found in the Cerruja area belongs to Eglant Koçi, ending any doubts about the victim's identity. His family members are expected to appear at the Tirana Morgue to retrieve the body.
According to investigations, Koçi is suspected of being murdered on June 4 by his close friend, Armando Shakaj. The Prosecution and Police have reconstructed the dynamics of the event and suspect that the victim was executed with a bullet to the head in the premises of the bar and his offices near the "Ismail Qemali" school in Tirana.
Investigators suspect that after the crime, Shakaj took a series of actions to hide his tracks. According to the investigative file, on June 5, he transported the victim's body in a Porsche, which he then sent by cart to the village of Ibë, claiming that he was taking it to the service station.
From there, he is suspected of continuing his route towards the Cërruja area, passing through the villages of Mollagjesh and Funar, before entering a forest area where he is believed to have abandoned the body. According to the investigation team, the route followed indicates that the suspect had good knowledge of the terrain, as he frequently frequented the area for motorcycle activities.
Eglant Koç's body was found in an advanced state of decomposition after nearly two weeks of intensive search by the State Police, an operation in which Kosovo security forces also participated.
Investigations have raised suspicions that Armando Shakaj is still in Albanian territory. According to investigative sources, there is no evidence so far that he has crossed the border, while information collected indicates that he may have moved to several areas of the country, mainly in Tirana and Elbasan.
The investigation team also suspects that he has altered his appearance to avoid identification, by cutting his hair and beard, as well as changing his way of dressing. The possibility that he may have been helped by close people to hide is also being verified.
One of the leads being investigated is related to information about his presence in the Kosovars' Street area in Tirana. After verifying security cameras, investigators have determined that the suspect has been in that area, which has reinforced suspicions that he continues to move within the country, while trying to evade arrest.
