Kreshnik Spahiu believes that Prime Minister Edi Rama is creating scenarios within himself as an opposition media movement with orders to dismiss municipal directors, since the opposition in Albania seems to no longer exist.
While Sali Berisha has been refusing to accept the elections for two months, claiming electoral fraud and no longer having support, Rama is trying to create an opposition factor within himself.
"There are two movements in the political scene. The first is that of the majority and Rama for the purges in the municipalities. The second is that of the opposition with Berisha for the non-recognition of the elections. Both are similar, but they do not produce, they shoot in the country. We have Rama to change directors or administrators. I think it is as a strategy in appearance that the government is moving: since we do not have a political rotation, we do it administratively. Rama creates scenarios within himself as an opposition media movement. Since we do not have a change of parties, we remove some directors of municipalities. It is as if these directors have eaten plums and pears at the expense of the mayors ," Spahiu told Report TV.
He suggested that it would be better to have a reform within the local administration, with cuts, rather than with the dismissal of directors.
"The best thing is to reduce the administration, because removing them is a waste of money. We are not 1 billion people, or like Beijing. Albania is a neighborhood of Berlin or London, it needs an administration as big as a neighborhood of London. I don't understand why 200 thousand administrations are needed. Most of them sit in cafes or sit in offices playing on the computer. 10% work. It is better to have a reform, to have less and to be paid more, even three times," the lawyer argued.
He thinks that Rama's move is a strategy to produce an event when there is none, and moreover, the issue that made him successful as mayor with the demolition of kiosks in Tirana.
"But I think it is Rama's strategy, a movement within himself, when the opposition does not exist or produces events within himself, in the municipality, such as with the demolition of buildings, changes in the municipality, and the idea is created that dissatisfaction has arisen, the owners who built without permission were affected. Rama entered politics with the demolition of kiosks, where he received the banner of success when he was mayor, which proved successful, and now he has returned to that very moment. Just like back then, when everyone was happy that the totuares were freed, now everyone will be happy again that these public spaces are being freed", said Spahiu.
The same situation is in the other camp, which accuses of electoral farce, to create events and to avoid responsibility for the loss. Spahiu recalled the case of Lulzim Basha, who was removed because he lost, but they themselves are not leaving and are using the same theses as him about vote theft.
"The same thing with Berisha, he attacked Lulzim Basha for resigning all the time for losing the elections and now he doesn't leave himself after losing. He accused Basha of saying that the elections were stolen, now he himself says that the elections were stolen," the lawyer underlined.
