Fires continue to spread in several areas of Albania, where in the last 24 hours alone, 23 fires have been reported, of which 7 remain active and 2 are under continuous monitoring.
The most problematic hot spots have been recorded in the Lura National Park (Dibar), in Zall Gjoçaj (Mat), Dukat (Vlora), the chestnut forest in Shmil (Elbasan), Shkopet (Lezha), Vernik and Dishnicë (Korca). 155 troops of the Armed Forces with 21 vehicles have intervened to help, as well as military helicopters that carried out several air missions to extinguish the flames.
The hotbeds under monitoring are in Bulqizë and Mallakastër, while the most affected areas are bushes and vegetation, with over 269 hectares of burned land and around 30 olive trees destroyed.
Authorities call for increased vigilance and immediate reporting of any suspected fires to the relevant structures, while meteorological conditions remain without precipitation, increasing the risk of fire in the regions of Kukës, Lezhë, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër.
Civil protection structures continue to be on the ground, continuously engaged in efforts to manage and extinguish fires throughout the territory.
