The fire on Mount Dukat in Vlora has been burning for several days. Journalist Armand Xhelili reports that work to extinguish the flames is currently continuing from the ground, even though the terrain is quite difficult.
17 firefighting forces, 30 Armed Forces personnel, as well as Vlora Civil Emergencies and forestry employees are present at the scene. The forces are working to localize the flames to prevent them from spreading towards the Llogara National Park.
Depending on the situation, there is expected to be further air intervention.
Meanwhile, a fire is also active in the village of Vernik in Devoll. The Prefecture of the Korça region announced that the intensity of the fire has decreased since last night, where it threatened to spread towards the border area. The possibility of assistance from the Greek side for air intervention is being considered, with which the Albanian authorities are in contact.
